A survey on the mountain pine beetle shows Alberta is holding the line on the pest with its control work and some help from the weather.

Pine beetles continue to decline from Slave Lake west to Grande Prairie and Grande Cache, but populations in central Alberta and areas north of Peace River remained the same or increased slightly.
